DESS DLC Screws
The DESS DLC Titanium Screw has a Chromium Carbonitride (CrCN) coating. Titanium is inherently a high friction material compared to stainless steel or gold. High friction between two titanium components can be compensated by the application of a higher torque.
Although a higher torque in an abutment screw assembly can increase torsion stress in the screw stem. This is not ideal.
To counter, the low friction coating on the DESS DLC abutment screws reduce this friction to deliver a higher gripping force at a lower torque value.
